Samantha
My family had a black lab when I was born, but the first dog that was truly “mine” was Belle. She was my introduction to the English Springer Spaniel breed, and certainly not my last.
Our entire family fell in love with Belle, and with the Springer breed as a whole. She was a wonderful family dog, loved by all five of us kids, but she was also an exceptional hunter. As soon as she saw our hunting gear, she knew it was time for action. We took her on organized hunts with our local gun club, and she would go straight to work. She loved it so much that there were times when she brought in my dad’s bag limit of ring-neck pheasants without him even having to fire a shot. So many cherished memories with that amazing dog.
Our love for Springers grew so much that my parents decided to get a male Springer to breed with Belle. I was always by my mom’s side when the puppies were born. It was incredible to watch Belle care for her little ones—she was a fantastic mother.
After Belle, we had several more Springers, including a few of her puppies. However, when I went off to college, I had to pause my involvement with dogs for a few years until my husband and I got our own property.
Before we even moved to our current state, I started searching for a Springer puppy. We eventually found the perfect one for us—Josie.
Since bringing Josie into our lives, I’ve been working with her in various ways. From trick dog training to pet therapy, and most recently, scent work, she’s been a joy to work with. Josie is incredibly intelligent and loves to learn, which pairs perfectly with my own passion for training and working with dogs.
Our Desire for Excellence
With a deep commitment to preserving the English Springer Spaniel breed, we aim to improve the next generation of our Springers. Josie serves as an excellent foundation, but we are looking to enhance her qualities by pairing her with a male Springer who complements her and will further advance her offspring.
Josie and the sire of our litter this year, Sam, have undergone thorough health screenings and are clear of the common, life-altering genetic conditions that are more frequently seen in English Springer Spaniels. These include Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), Phosphofructokinase Deficiency (PFK), and hip and elbow dysplasia.
We would be delighted to share about our upcoming litter of puppies with you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out for more information.
